    The Richardson School (100% employee owned!) is now accepting applications for a Occupational Therapist position at our Beloit location!


    The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically these children have been dual diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders. The Company serves children with a range of intellectual disabilities, including those who are non-verbal. We serve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities, neurological impairments, behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and other neurological disabilities. Children with developmental disabilities, as well as multiple medical conditions, including sight or hearing impairments, are also carefully considered for services, depending on other diagnostic features.


    This position is a part-time position with the possibility for full-time depending on caseload. The Occupational Therapist will work under the direction and supervision of the Education Curriculum Coordinator. This position will develop and execute specific components of an occupational therapy program as specified in an individualized educational plan (IEP).

    • Develops and implements treatment plans for students in all environments necessary to meet functional needs.
    • Functions within legal, licensing, and professional standards in maintaining a therapeutic and educational environment for the resident within the classroom throughout the school day.
    • Prepares and updates treatment plans per changing student needs and as goals/objectives are met.
    • Meets with Education Curriculum Coordinator and other TRS personnel to implement group or individual plans for the classroom, community, etc.
    • Ensures that treatment is conductive to student development of independence, competence, and sense of self-worth. 


    • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
    • Be certified by the State of Wisconsin of Public Instruction of the following license: Occupational Therapist (O051)
    • Valid Wisconsin Driver's license
    • Acceptable driving record per company insurance guidelines
    • Experience working with emotionally traumatized or cognitively disabled individuals preferred
