    The Richardson School is now accepting applications for an Education Curriculum Coordinator position at our West Allis location! The Education Curriculum Coordinator will coordinate educational activities for assigned site(s) including student assessments and placement, curriculum selection and implementation, development and maintenance of IEP's and student transition/discharge

     

    The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

     

    The Richardson School serves children with a range of intellectual disabilities, including those who are non-verbal. We serve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities, neurological impairments, behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and other neurological disabilities. Children with developmental disabilities, as well as multiple medical conditions, including sight or hearing impairments, are also carefully considered for services, depending on other diagnostic features.

    Responsibilities

    • Determines educational needs of students.
    • Provides leadership in the identification, evaluation, selection and upgrading of the educational curriculum for TRS West Allis.
    • Conduct placement testing.
    • Ongoing contact with school districts to coordinate transition and discharge planning.
    • Manages classroom assignments and analyzes academic data to determine curriculum needs.
    • Responds to questions from parents and referral sources regarding curriculum used.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Education or related teaching field with an emphasis in special education preferred.
    • Maintains current active Teaching license in Special Education from the State of WI Department of Public Instruction.
    • Possess a School Administrator license with ability to supervise teachers with a provisional license preferred.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge in curriculum development/implementation as well as child welfare services required.
    • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and respect through appearance, interactions with others and engagement;
      excellent written and verbal communication skills; and maintains self-composure and self-control under stressful conditions; and
      demonstrates actual or potential supervisory skills and leadership.
